A nice day for flipflops!

 - Hope you're enjoying the lovely sunshine :D

Hot & sticky!!!

....QUICK! Someone grab me an ice lolly!!

Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!

- 'Tis true; I do believe that flying ant day is upon us....popped out to the postbox earlier and there were STACKS of them around...all wriggling around on the floor and buzzing through the air - UGH!! If you've not heard of this phenomenon before then check out the link here for more info....thank goodness it's only for a day!!

Late blooms....

Well, I'm not sure what's happened to the poppies this year, but after the glorious display last summer, numbers have definitely dwindled this time round.....would it be the dry Spring that's to blame? I really don't know...click here to see how fab they were last June (sigh).  It seems to be the year of the day-lily...we have plenty of those about to sprout; will post some piccies once they arrive.

Summer's taken a little break....well, at least I hope that's all it is?

Oh dear....looks like I well and truly jinxed it last week by saying that it was possibly the longest spell of Summery weather we'd had in the UK for a long time......this week has been wet, wet, wet, and more drastically...cold...boooooooo!

Ah well, at least it's kept these pesky fellas at bay for a while - they just kept landing on me all weekend.....

- not entirely sure on their true name, but a friend of mine affectionately nicknamed them this because of their shape....and I have to agree! Anyone else been bombarded with commas lately?! ;)

Let's hope the St Swithin's Day rule doesn't apply this year....don't fancy another 39 days of rain!!!

Summer's STILL here! :D

- WOW

- I think this possibly has to be the longest spell of good Summery weather we've had in the UK for a LONG time; it's been beautiful, and these little bugs and flowers are very h-a-p-p-y about it too - just look at their little faces! :D

Hope you all have a happy shiny weekend everyone!

I wish I was a cat........

- she has the right idea! :)

*by the way...following on from last week's posts - was gutted that Murray didn't quite make it to the final, but, I'm a very big Nadal fan too, so it all worked out good in the end...maybe next year Minty, maybe next year... :)

A cheery little ladybird

 - out enjoying the summer sun; which is exactly what I intend to do this weekend! It's set to stay boooooo-ti-ful!! BIG YAY!! :)

Enjoy yourselves; whatever you're up to!

Happy, sunny day...

Twas a beautiful day yesterday; the sun was shining brightly, the sky was blue, and, we have more poppies......LOTS of them! :D

- It's looking like another glorious day today as well...and with my birthday coming up at the weekend, I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that it'll hold out for another few days yet...

Pretty pleeeeeease - make it happen! :)

Lots of sugary summeriness...

Hope you all had a lovely weekend - it was so nice and warm; I made the most of it and spent the majority of my time outside. :) I had a gorgeous day with my friend on Saturday - we spent the whole afternoon and evening out in her garden....enjoying the heat, homemade smoothies and butterfly cakes (made by by own fair hand)

I hope there'll be more summery weekends to come; Matt and I picked up this little gem earlier in the week from British Home Stores - he was working at the weekend unfortunately, so no opportunities to use it yet, but I can't wait 'til we do! :)

- I LOVE the pretty rose pattern...

 - excuse the blurriness of the last image (oops!)...hopefully you can still appreciate how gorgeous this little hamper is though! Bring on the picnics!! :)

Now, after much relaxation, here's hoping it'll be a very productive week....

Summer's here!

The current weather has inspired me to turn my attentions to all things summery.....here's a little selection of my most current work.
