A weekend of family-filled celebrations

So how was everyone's weekend? If you're a mum (like me!) were you suitably pampered on Sunday?!!! I hope so! ;)

It was a double-whammy in our household; not only was it Mother's Day but also Mr S's birthday - we headed for the coast;

....built sandcastles, skimmed stones, dodged HUGE waves, walked and walked, laughed lots and ate copious amounts of yummy food.....all topped off with CAKE!!

Nothing better really.....lots of fun had by all!!

And Freya created a lovely masterpiece for her daddy........

Cookie over candy art!

I have to say I LOVE creating new gingerbread designs - the bright colours and the fun element all add to it....here's a little sneaky peek at a house I finished just the other day...nom, nom, nom!!

Latest samples from Europe...

It's not often that I get to see my work in print as most of it is overseas, however it was a nice surprise to  receive these samples just the other week, ready for the European market - these were sold to a company called Tailor-Made Studios right back in 2012...it's great to see that they will finally be out on the shelves this Christmas.....now....can anybody translate for me I wonder?!??? ;)

Ooops...I did it again! :-/

All good intentions and yet here I am again leaving it endless weeks before reposting - I hope I still have some of you with me out there...it can be a lonely blogging world sometimes! Anyway, hands full with a toddler in tow, and one of the various reasons why I don't always keep up-to-date on here, I thought I'd share with you some pics from my little one's room - I really enjoyed getting the paintbrushes out (going back to my roots, so to speak!) and creating a height chart for her wall....here's a step-by-step peek at my creation; what do you think?? I'm very pleased to say that she LOVES it! YaY! :D

And here are a few little friends I created for her too....along with bunting by Nana!

A little bit krafty....

Hi everyone....I hope you all had a fun-filled Halloween and Guy Fawkes' Night?! I spent the whole time feeling VERY under the weather, so missed out on all the excitement this year...the dreaded obligatory change of seasons bugs...boooo...hisssss; have they got you yet?!!! :(

Anyways, must carry on, so here are a few snippets from a latest set - I've tried to simplify things a little bit; using plenty of flat colour, but compensating with lots of pattern and combining with an element of kraft...what do you think?

Spotted! :)

It's always nice to see a bit of product - almost a year ago I sold this baby train design to a textile agent in the US.....

....and now it has been found selling online at modeS4u (thanks Lucy!); lovely to see (and rather impressed at how the repeat has been created from my panel design!) You can view and buy here and here where it can be found in two colourways.

Here are some snapshots of the finished product...

Christmas is coming....

And as usual I've been working on lots of new things for the festive season ahead of another US selling trip. Here are a couple of snippets from a character set I've been busy on....

Santa's got his skis on and has rocked up at the Antarctic!

And this family of snowmen are having a fun-filled sledging trip!

I really enjoyed creating these guys....let's hope they find a nice new home ;)

A little first....

Whilst I've been absent from my blogging life, I've still managed to fit a few bits of work in here and there between the nappy changes etc ;).....one very exciting commission I received earlier this year was from Papercrafter magazine - I've never done any work for a magazine before, so I was thrilled to hear from them, and the fact that it would be out for everyone to see here in the UK made it even more satisfying! Each month the magazine features a 'Designer Papers' collection, and this month I made my debut....I'm really pleased with how they've turned out, and even more pleased that a little Christmas crafting project using my designs is actually featured on the front page. Here are a few snippets for you to see...I thoroughly enjoyed working on it; here's hoping it'll be the first of many :D

 - The 'Designer Papers' Studio Selection....featuring my paisley design on the front cover

 - pictures from the magazine featuring a Christmas tree tabletop project, and a Christmas tree card created using my papers.

 - and the lovely moment I saw my name in print :D

A lovely time at the craft fair

Hellooo, how are you all today? Thought I'd fill you in on how everything went at the weekend....
It was busy, busy, busy here in the run up to Sunday; sorting out business cards, labelling things up, framing prints, etc, etc, and up until Saturday I hadn't even seen all the lovely makes by our very talented Ree-Stitch seamstress Elizabeth, only a few snapshots, so waited patiently with anticipation for their arrival....well, I was not disappointed (even if I do say so myself!!) - they were better than I could have ever imagined - hurrah for Elizabeth - you're an absolute star!!! Here's a few pictures of our stall for you to see....it was a beautiful sunshiny day!

We had lots of interest, and lots of lovely feedback, and many people came and took our business cards etc....hoping it will bring some further enquiries in soon as we had a few people asking us about customised designs based on the letters trio.....all very exciting!!

I was busily snapping away at the stock yesterday, so have a little look on my facebook page (click the Ree-Stitch link over on the right hand side of this page) to view all of our lovely products...hope to see you over there peeps! ;)

Countdown to the craft fair

Hi everyone, just thought I'd let you know about a new venture that I've been busily preparing for -  as well as my usual work and looking after babba I have also been designing layouts and motifs for cushions...this is quite the family affair, as while I've been busily designing, my mother-in-law has been busily sewing, with some help and assistance from sis-in-law too....the collaboration is working well and we have our first official event this Sunday - at Barton Marina - just off the A38 outside Burton-on-Trent. If you're local, then why not come along and see us - the place makes for a great family day out ;)

Pop over to our facebook page to have a proper look at what we've been up to....and if you're a Facebook user, you may even want to 'like' and 'share'....

Wish us luck!!x x x

Ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes.........

Wow - hello - it's been a while!

I'm sorry I haven't been posting on here for what seems like (and probably is!) an eternity, but I've been a little bit preoccupied of late...!

Our little princess, Freya, bounced in to our lives on October 25th 2011....she is an absolute gem and we are so, so very proud of her....hard to believe she's nearly 2 now!

Funnily enough, my last post was entitled '2 years on' and already another 2 years have passed - where on earth did they go?!! Throughout the 2 years there have been many highs, many lows, a couple of weddings (not mine, I might add!!), a funeral, and a house move.....busy, busy, busy...but, I'm hoping to get things back on track.

To all those who've stuck with me - I thank you - and to all those who may now decide to join me on my blog journey - I send out a big 'hello!' and 'Welcome' :)

2 years on....

It was our 2nd wedding anniversary this weekend, so decided to treat ourselves to a little break away....cannot believe how quickly the time has flown by!

We had a lovely time,  and despite the weather turning rather wet on Sunday, we didn't let it stop us - out came the brolly and the big boots, and off we set....but......what started off as a nice little walk.....

...turned out to be a 7 mile trek....OOPS! not quite what we had in mind! :O

And it was all my idea...so I can't blame anyone else!!

It was all good in the end though...and we even stumbled upon a namesake along the way - would love to know why...? There was even a suite in the hotel named Truman!

Hmmmmm...further investigations called for methinks!! ;)

And that makes three...

Have a great weekend everyone! :D
